We got to know the family personally and this is what the Mom shared with us:

"Raylan, our young son, was diagnosed with DIPG on 6/20/16, not long after he started attending preschool. A diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is an aggressive type of childhood cancerous tumor that forms in the brain stem. That's the area at the base of your brain that connects the brain to the spine. It is inoperable. I have been told Raylan is a miracle thus far! I believe the many prayers definitely help!!!! He received radiation back in 2016/2017 for 6 weeks five days a week along with port placement and several clinical trials that had severe adverse reactions and had to be stopped. Along our journey, as I call it, he has been hospitalized many times. He has had shingles, respiratory issues. and now behavioral issues secondary to the radiation and has been diagnosed Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). It is a childhood disorder that is defined by a pattern of hostile, disobedient, and defiant behaviors directed at adults or other authority figures. ODD is also characterized by children displaying angry and irritable moods, as well as argumentative and vindictive behaviors. Raylan was removed from his preschool due to it and since he has the “devil” as I call it. It was very difficult to place him into a new school. His diagnosis was the root of all evil trying to find him s new school, which in return caused a lot of missed work for both my husband and I, a lot of Doctor Appointments and meetings with the county, which eventually started us on a downward spiral to financial crisis. I am a ICU RN and my husband is an elevator constructor. I am fortunate enough to have FMLA since being with my company 8 years but my husband does not. We both had to take time off from work to care for Raylan, which leads to lack of pay. Raylan currently sees a behavioral specialist 5 days a week. One goes to the school and comes to the home 1-2 times a week. He also takes medication to help with sleep headaches and any other symptoms that he may be having that day, none of the medications are covered by the insurance. We also have a little girl who we try to do the very best we can to give her a “normal” life. We are currently behind on many of our bills and NEED HELP!!!!! Raylan currently has scans every 12 weeks."
